Sweet sweet Treat

Give me SOMETHING sweet to eat!

Looking for a quick and easy tasty sweet treat?
I found these delectables on Cookin Classy's blog and my mouth immediately began to water up. I suddenly had the urge to run to the store and get the necessary ingredients to make sure I had these at home for the upcoming week. Even better... can take them to work too.

Here is the recipe for the Krispie Treats and the Pink Frosting HOMEMADE ofcourse:

Sugar Cookie Rice Krispie Treats
Yields 12

Ingredients:
1/3 cup butter
1/8 tsp salt
1 (10.5 oz) pkg miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix (unprepared)
6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
1 Recipe Sugar Cookie Frosting, recipe follows
Sprinkles (optional)

Directions:
Butter a 9 x 13 dish, set aside. Melt butter in a large nonstick saucepan over medium low heat.  Stir in salt.  Add marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted.  Remove from heat.  Stir in Sugar Cookie Mix.  Fold in Rice Krispies Cereal and stir until evenly coated.  Pour mixture into buttered dish.  Using a buttered spatula, spread mixture evenly into pan.  Allow to cool slightly, about 2 minutes, then cut into 12 squares.  Using your hands, round edges of squares by cupping your hands and gently pressing on corners (I also flattened them a bit but not necessary).  Frost each "cookie" with Sugar Cookie Frosting and sprinkle with optional sprinkles.  Store in an airtight container.

Sugar Cookie Frosting

Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 Tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
Pinch salt
2 cups powdered sugar
Food coloring (optional)

Directions:
In a mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, whip together butter, milk, vanilla, salt and powdered sugar until fluffy and smooth about one minute.  Mix in several drops optional food coloring, stir until well blended.

Happy Valentine's day! Last Minute Ideas

You've waited until the VERY last minute and in need of some quickly put together but thoughtful ideas? Well it IS the thought that counts right? How about these fast, easy and still creative gift ideas for your Valentine!

1. Put all of your Love on a Mix-tape
Download your favorite jams, mainly the ones that make her come to mind, and put them on a CD. Get some cute packaging, like a valentines day gift bag and little teddy bear. They will adore you.

    2. Prepare a Bubble Bath

This one is probably the simplest and easiest idea and all you have to do is run over to Wal-mart or your neighborhood florist to purchase some petals for the bath and a great scent to make the bubbles. To top it off, when your valentine is almost ready to get out of the water,  bring them a  heated towel right out of  the dryer....someone did that for me once
BEST IDEA EVER!

3. Candlelight Dinner

Your setup definitely doesn't have to be as pretty as this picture but you get the idea!
Get some great dinner ideas from Foodgawker.com. Bring out your finest dinner ware and instead of the usual 2 candles that are lit on your table, light up some more, light up the entire room if you think that will win her over.....
FYI the more romantic the better.
And pop the champagne! Just be sure to not burn the house down and blow those candles out before any after dinner activities :)

4. Send them a Valentine E-card

Thoughtful and effective. 123Greetings has a great collection for you to choose from. Don't be shy, pick something perfect for the occasion and seal it with a meaningful message. Love letters have become a dead language so they will be surprised to see that you incorporated some of your own feelings in the card let alone, expect it in their email!

My beau friend and I have a few plans for the day. I will post pics of our day soon!

What's For Lunch?

Happy New Year!!
wishing all of you the best year that has yet to come.
Now What's for Lunch?

For the new year my Beaux friend and I have decided (well we decided a long time ago but never stuck to it)to eat better and exercise together consistently throughout the new year. Compared to what we are used to eating, today's meal was more like baby steps!

Instead of a full meal considerng the meat, vegetable, and side I condensed it into the easiest, fastest, relatively healthier meal that can also last a couple of days (for those of you that need to take something to work the next day like me). PASTA!!

The pasta that was fixed today was prepared with Sun dried tomato Alfredo sauce, penne pasta and topped with baked breaded shrimp.  It was delish surprisingly because it was something that I really just threw together hoping that it would taste ok and it was a hit!

Now for dessert, instead of my usual freshly baked cookies with ice cream, I brought out my new Coca Latte Machine (Kroger $12) and made some Caramel Hot cocoa with marshmallows and whip cream.
I know I know....like I said BABY STEPS!!

Good Bye Dry locks & Hello Hydration

Finally something that even my hair can lust over. In case you haven't heard, but I have found a new staple piece foe my wash day regimen.

Now I have heard some of my Natural counterparts talking about this product. And for under $5 at Wal-Mart...WHAT....yep that's right 5! You not only can get the shampoo, but the Hello Hydration 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner for those of you like me that like to cut down the washing process as much as possible. Especially if you like to deep condition with another product.

I used this product for the first time today and not only is the scent divine, but it definitely left my hair moisturized, soft, manageable and clean. Ready to go for my 45min.-1 hour deep conditioning. I honestly couldn't ask for more. AND it came in a nice size bottle for the price.

@101LadyT, one of my fave naturalista video bloggers uses the Hello Hydration Conditioner along with some other great products in her twist out video and her hair is to Lust over! Thought I'd share. Check it out!

This one's for the Lovers: DIY Painting Kit

Introducing...the Love is Art DIY Painting kit

And just in time for the Holidays! Even if you aren't the creative type, this interactive, messy, bold yet intimate idea will leave you and your beau or gal with a lasting impression.

LITERALLY

Artist and creator Jeremy Brown designed this idea to keep the lovers out there desirable and passionate for one another by doing something out the box and new to keep the flame afire if you will. Influenced by the likes of Andy Warhol and French Artist of the 60's Yves Klein, Brown has taken the idea of abstract expression and placed it on a modern pedestal for the people at home to DIY.

But I digress....

The rules to this trade is very simple
  • on canvas (provided in the kit) you and you lover just pour out the paint (also provided in black or blur) spread it around and then the two of you just tussle and love away in the paint until a one-of a kind creation is born.
  • after your done you have the option to take the canvas to an art store to have it placed on a frame.
What a more magical, memorable, lasting idea to do with
you and your mate and at a great price!
$60 in Black or $89 in Blue- Which is your poison aye?

I think this might be on my Christmas list for my beau friend and I!

A Sale to Lust Over: Langford Market

A couple weeks ago I was invited to a special Boutique Event at Langford Market in Rice Village Houston, TX for their $100 sale and I was completely lusting over EVERYTHING!!!

In case you didn't know, Langford Market is one on my most favorite boutiques. They have wardrobe material for the classy chic, the sexy professional, the urban sassy and all things fabulous. They offer clothing, accessories, vintage must haves and furniture that could add a modern flare to any humble abode. With their $100 sale every $100 you spent, you saved $100. WHAT! Yep that's right so basically if you went in and purchased around $400 worth of lustful pieces  you would only spend around $200 which is exactly what I did. The $100 sale was an experience all its own. By mixing wine with shopping, great deals, sweets and
AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE
you really can't go wrong. Everyone there is so nice and more than happy to help you with finding new additions to your wardrobe. The atmosphere of this stylish boutique is complete and utter cuteness as well. From their intricate homely like setting to their center piece of a huge one of a kind Angel of Liberty, which is what I like to call her, near the cash wrap,,,,  It is also something I have been having my eye on and it is  for sale by the way....you can't do anything else but be in awe.

If you are located in Houston, there are 2 other locations where you can find Ms. LM in Memorial City Mall and in the Heights. If you don't do anything else, stop by one of the locations where they are usually having their $1 sale where you can by 2 items and the 3rd for just 4 quarters which can be worth a lot for any savvy shopper. I think the pics that I took speak for the boutique its self so
CHECK THEM OUT WILL 'YA!
You won't be disappointed.
